Start the New Year with a positive act! Consider donating to both of the below crowdfunders and support independent film initiatives.
THE FILM CULT EQUIPMENT FUNDRAISER
The Film Cult is a decentralised support network for ethical filmmakers building an alternative to the inaccessble film industry.
Through the provision of film equipment THE FILM CULT have supported over 150 local film projects, distributed over £100,000 of equipment and saved filmmakers over £30,000.
Over 90% of surveyed users say they would not have been able to access the equipment at all if the project did not exist.
TAKE ONE ACTION - BRING REAL UTOPIAS TO LIFE
Take One Action’s theme for their 2025 film festivals in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness will be REAL UTOPIAS, and they are running their very first crowdfunder to make this happen!
The goal is to deliver five festivals exploring existing seeds of Real Utopias and unpacking what’s standing in our way.
Donations help to:
Design bespoke pathways for audiences, so they leave our events inspired to build real utopias within local ecosystems of change.
Decentralise programming and work with grassroots groups already doing brilliant, radical work in and around each city
Ensure accessibility for all, pay artists fairly, and welcome underserved audiences across the country
Creative Scotland is matching all donations made to thecrowdfund, so all contributions will be doubled!
